How to Upload Your Pin Directly on Pinterest

There are a few reasons why you may want to upload your standard pin directly to Pinterest, here’s why!

Sometimes getting your brand or blog up and running can be overwhelming, let alone thinking about other tools and programs needed often used for scheduling so here’s a simple solution. You can easily just upload your pin directly to the Pinterest platform and it’s FREE. You can also easily save pins to post later automatically without purchasing a subscription for a scheduling tool.

Uploading directly to Pinterest may be easier for your workflow and strategy. Perhaps you can navigate the platform more quickly or prioritize your content at a limited bulk rate and this tool works better for your skill set.

Now let’s learn how easy it is to just use Pinterest for marketing needs by uploading directly on the platform and utilizing their scheduling tool.

Directions:

  1. Click Create
  2. Add the url of blog post under “save from site” and it will grab all images from that post OR you can grab pins saved on your desktop/folders and click “upload images”.
  3. You can also use their edit features to optimize your pin graphic if you haven’t done so already. Make sure it’s the correct size ratio recomended by Pinterest best practices.
  4. Add the title for the pin and include your brand name. For example: The Ultimate Brownie Recipe – Brand Name
  5. Add your description. This is a very important component, almost more important than your image. Be sure to write a perfect conversational sentence form with keywords that are sprinkled throughout. Learn more about keywords here. Hashtags are no longer necessary, do not use.
  6. Alt text is for the visually impaired, so just explain what you see on the image in a quick sentence.
  7. Add your link to direct traffic to the specific post where it says “add destination link”.
  8. Pin to most direct board as possible first to help with algorithm search.
  9. /you can either publish immediately or later date using the scheduler option. It only allows you to schedule just under 2 weeks out to all relevant boards from 2weeks to a month or more apart.
  10. You can also create a carousel pin similar to instagram multi-image post. They don’t perform as well in engagement and read. I’d opt for an idea pin, which you can learn more here. Your best option is a standard pin, video and idea pins.
